Bundesliga International, SportRadar, and the subsidiary of the DFL, Deutsche Fußball Liga, were the key parties who negotiated the deal.

The said agreement between the two organizations is expected to cover a two-year regional partnership, which opens for extensive exposure to the Bundesliga International leagues across the Asian region.

Through this agreement, MCW is also expected to acquire or obtain a number and a variety of exclusive marketing assets to use for its sports markets, such as the usage of competition logos for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2.

Additionally, this partnership will give MCW in Asia opportunities to use the Meisterschale image and its player image rights by DFL’s group marketing guidelines.

Regionalized virtual LED perimeter advertising at the 2024 Supercup is also included among the benefits expected to be received by MCW through the partnership.

The contracts and other deals associated with the collaboration begin immediately, with complete coverage of the 2024–2025 season until its conclusion.

It also encompasses the coverage of the 2024 Supercup, a football match in Germany that is done annually, and the Bundesliga’s relegation matches scheduled at the end of the season.

The Bundesliga’s relegation matches are one of the crucial aspects of the league, which adds stakes to the lower-ranked teams’ performance throughout the season.

The agreement includes MCW’s digital sites in the following countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Singapore, Japan, Cambodia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, India, Nepal, the Republic of Korea, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and the Philippines.

A brief background with regards to the Bundesliga includes it being known as the home of Asian stars on the European continent, especially with the prevalence of players preferring to go to Germany than any other in the European leagues.

The organization aims to comprehensively promote its brand through various initiatives, which include content production, fan engagement activities, and digital strategies, as well as partnering up with other organizations, like MCW, to further reach audiences in different territories and countries, thereby empowering audience and market reach across the globe.

At last year’s FIFA 2022 World Cup, Germany’s top flight was also hailed, with eight more players selected for the Japanese squad than any other foreign league included.
